Hey, you looking for Gears of War 2 walkthroughs? Read em’ and weep right here: Gears of War 2 guides. That should keep you busy for a long time, but if you’re hankering for news as well, we’ve got that too.
Now that the Xbox 360 mega-hit Gears of War 2 has landed on planet Earth and we’re finally no longer left wanting, it’s time to go over everything that’s been going on in the Gears of War 2 realm. The reviews have poured in, splashing down with a badass Metacritic score of 93. It’s only a single percentage point lower than the original Gears of War (94), which might as well be the exact same thing. And remember, Gears of War 2 is facing up against the insanely high expectations created by the first Gears of War.
Right before the midnight madness of 11/7/08, we described some of the Gears of War 2 Midnight Launch Events that went down in a bunch of major cities. This time we’ve got a video to show you of one these Gears of War 2 release day events. Feed those eyeballs:
If you weren’t there, now you’ve got an idea of what it was like. Moving on, we’ve also learned about Gears of War 2’s impressive sales over its first week, racking up millions already. VGCharts.com put up a report that Gears of War 2 launched in the top spot (certainly expected). Still, it blew apart expectations, smashing through 2 million sales in a less than a week, putting Sony’s triple-A title Resistance 2 in a virtual hole, with the PS3 flagship title bringing in decent but nowhere-near competitive 304,958. With 2 million copies already burning up 360s everywhere, surely there will be a need for Gears of War 2 walk throughs.
Finally, word’s gotten around of a massively hardcore accomplishment: Gears Of War 2: Horde Wave 50 Completed On Insane. Gearheadsofwar.com, the self-proclaimed world-first beaters of the almost impossible mode, said, “We started from Wave 1 on the ‘Day One’ map and whittled away at this for about three days. The dirty, dirty Horde didn’t stand a damn chance! Forget about throwing the kitchen sink at us, the Locusts threw the damn house! We have it all on film, baby!” Man, think you can do that?

Since the Gears of War 2 release date starts in mere minutes, you know we’ll have the best Gears of War 2 walkthrough any minute now!
In the mean time let’s fill you in on Gaming Bits’ post about Gears of War 2 Developer Midnight Launch Events. Major metropolises, including Los Angeles, New York, Bellvue, and London are throwing some serious late-night parties to celebrate, but you can still probably get in on the action, with a whole slew of stores like Best Buy making their doors stay open. The Gears of War 2 release date is here, and you should be able to easily find a place opening soon, take a look around!
That’s not all we’ve got, though - check out the first ten minutes of Gears of War 2 leaked on GameTrailers, so take a look:
One thing to consider before you spend your hard earned cash, especially if the multiplayer is important to you, is GameCherry’s post, “Epic Gets Creative With GOW2 Resales”. A handful of multiplayer maps (the number says five) taken straight out of Gears of War 1 have been retooled for Gears of War 2. There’s a catch - the maps can’t be installed more than once, so if you were to buy a new copy, install the maps, and then sell it back to a store, the next person that buys the used copy won’t be able to get the maps at all. Something to think about for sure…

The Gears of War 2 360 release date approaches, and with it looms the first walkthrough! Anyway let’s distract ourselves with some Gears of War 2 news and rumors…
We’ve caught wind of a site that says it knows What Multiplayer feels like in Gears of War 2. The site, going by the name of Gameguru.in, wrote thusly (replete with shaky sentence construction): “There is no more sticking to walls, players can wall bounce but again it’s not as fast enough. They can also break out of their slide before going into cover, the party system very similar to Halo games made by Bungie.” First off, a Halo comparison doesn’t sound bad to us. Secondly, we like any tidbits that sound like tips to help add to the Gears of War 2 cheats and walkthroughs.
Next up, a short foray into a quick bit called Gears of War 2 Spoilers (Sort of), by Chris Buffa of GameDaily, which is led in with: “What Microsoft doesn’t want you to know about its big, bad sequel.” Besides supposed “spoilers” there are also some great shots to go along with the commentary.
We’ve also discovered our potential list of Gears of War 2 walkthroughs just got shorter: CliffyB - Gears of War 2 “definitely not” Coming to PC. N4G comments: “Gameplayer spoke with Gears of War 2 lead designer CliffyB today and unearthed the info that unlike the original, there is no way the sequel will come to PC. He also mentions its dismal PS3 potential.” Look on the bright side: at least we can focus solely on just the Xbox 360 walkthrough for Gears of War 2…

This week as the release draws closer and we anticipate getting our paws on the best gears of war 2 walk through, some some worthwhile bits have sprouted in the area of Gears of War 2 news and rumors.
We’ll begin with the discovery of a seemingly too-good-to-be-true deal on the Gears of War 2 Limited Edition. GameXtract says: “I like getting my video games cheaper. Especially when I don’t have to wait for three months till everyone else doesn’t give a dam about the game. It looks like ToysRus is trying to get an upper hand on pre-orders this year with Gears of War 2. The limited edition is listed on the site for $59.99 instead of the regular $69.99 found at many other retailers.” While we’d prefer to be hearing about the Gears of War 2 walkthrough and codes,we can’t complain about that price.
Second on our list is an appearance of some Leaked Gears of War 2 multiplayer screenshots. Split-screen said: “In order to refrain from spoilers another little piggy sent us the list of multiplayer maps and a couple of snaps, in case you are one of those who loves whispering Marcus Fenix into someone’s ears then its time to get those chainsaw’s outta here.” The images aren’t as clean as we could hope for, appearing to come from a camera taking pictures of a TV with the game playing on it, but it’s better than nothing…
Finally, our ears have picked up on an official transmission from Epic themselves (via CVG): “After two years of pouring our heart and passion into Gears of War 2, the team is immensely happy with what we’ve created,” said design director Cliff Bleszinski. “This is Epic’s best work yet, and we can’t wait to see the response from fans and newcomers to the series alike.” This followed the announcement that the game has gone gold! We still have to wait until November 7th before we can see if the game can walk the walkthrough as well as talk the talk!

The Gears of War 2 Experience: E-Day Emergency Call is a marketing attempt to build anticipation for the upcoming Gears of War 2 release date. The idea by Microsoft Game Studios is to give gamers a toll-free number to call and record a message as “a terrified Seran on Emergence Day.” The number is 1-800-598-6379. According to the folks at teamxbox.com: “Get your friends to help and let loose. Remember, it’s E-Day, so nobody’s seen a Locust or heard of Delta Squad before. And bonus points for keeping the language fairly clean. We will immortalize the best five entries on our site.” You’ll need to agree to a few rules, so be sure to read through the official post. Think you’ve got a funny scared voice? Get your buddies together and come up with a skit of Gears of War 2 soldiers in peril!
Next up: the Gears of War 2 Limited Edition Energy Drink. Huh? ButtonMasher.com writes: “Microsoft and Demon Energy Drink are teaming up to run a promotion at the launch of Gears of War 2. The promo will include limited edition Demon Energy Drink cans and bottles as well as a competition to win the first copies of Gears of War 2 in the world.” Is an energy drink the most logical way to promote Gears of War Two? Can you picture a Gears of War 2 sniper, with a branded energy drink at his side?
Finally, UK Gears-heads got the opportunity for a weird deal: Gears 2 and replica gold lancer for £129. According to Xbox360Fanboy.com, “Not to be confused with the Gears of War 2 in-game gold plated Lancer, UK retailer gamestation is offering diehard fans the chance to own a replica gold painted Gears Lancer. The same toy Lancer that’s available exclusively on Amazon.com, but with a fancy gold paint scheme. If you’re interested in owning one of these bundles, you better start saving up already. The Gears of War 2 gold plated Lancer bundle (collector’s edition plus Lancer) will set you back a hefty £129.” How does that sound for the ultimate of Gears of War 2 toys? If you’re like us and can’t get access to the gold lancer, there’s still the good old blood-splattered black-and-gray replica. If you use your imagination, there are some really useful things you can accomplish with the fan-favorite of Gears of War 2 guns.

The released Gears of War 2 Achievments will certainly keep your hands full, and will present challenges that a walkthrough won’t be able to solve for you, but hey, they go hand-in-hand in a lot of ways. To say that there’s a lot of anticipation for the sequel to developer Epic Games’ third-person over-the-shoulder shooter Gears of War, would be nothing short of a massive understatement.
